Last months, we worked hard on our digital and ethical guidebooks. You can now access to more than 50 guidebooks right on your ClimbingAway iOS or Android apps. And the digitalisation is going on :) But in recent weeks the ClimbingAway team has worked on improving the Android and Apple's free apps :) It's always good news especially as the latest iOS was released more than 1 year ago!
Driven by our talented new developer, the Android application is starting a cycle of short developments with upcoming regular updates. The goal is to catch the iOS app and continue to expand the capabilities. For this first update: More reliable informations, better disaplyed and enhaced!
> The database has been completely cleaned and homogenization of the names of regions and departments for 108 countries now allows a clear navigation in the "Areas" menu without old duplicates.
> The addition of essential information: Ban on the rock climbing areas concerned.
> Improving maps with the ability to choose the satellite, hybrid or plan maps.
> A much improved navigation on the world map with the removal of disapointing un-zoom upon return on the map: No more tantrums! Now when viewing the page on an area, when you go back, you find the area of the map that you left with the same zoom level.
And Apple has validated version 2.4 this night with interesting optimisations :
- 3D Touch shortcuts for happy owners of iPhone 6s and 6sPlus. Find a rock climbing area around has never been so easy!
- A reduction of more than 80% of the data exchanged with the base thanks to data compression. Your operator fair use will appreciate :)
- The database also cleaned for this app (see Android app).
- Our digital guidebooks store gets a clearer presentation and the possibility of sorts to find it in the fifty topos!
- an iOS9 compilation for optimal execution.
Come on! Climbing season is now well launched (ok with lot of rain...), so good discoveries among our 6200 rock climbing areas and as usual ... Have good Climbs !!!
