Le 14 janvier 2015, Tommy Caldwell et Kevin Jorgeson frappent un grand coup en réalisant la grande voie la plus extrême du monde dans le Dawn Wall de El Capitan. "Mescalito" c'est 900m, 32 longueurs, trois de suite en 5.14d (9a) et 10 autres comprises entre 8a+ et 8c ! Après avoir travaillé la voie pendant 7 années, ils réussirent l'ascension complète après 19 jours dans la paroi avec une médiatisation sans égal pour notre sport. Même Obama a publiquement salué leur réussite "You remind us that anything is possible" :)
