| Né à Santa Rosa en Californie, Kevin est un grimpeur professionnel. Il est notamment connu pour ses réalisations très difficile en bloc ainsi qu'en High ball. En 2009 à Buttermilks (Bishop), il réalise la première ascension de "Ambrosia" un bloc High Ball extrême côté V11 de 14 m ! Le 14 janvier 2015, Kevin et son compatriote Tommy Caldwell frappent un grand coup en réalisant la grande voie la plus extrême du monde dans le Dawn Wall de El Capitan. "Mescalito" c'est 900m, 32 longueurs, trois de suite en 5.14d (9a) et 10 autres comprises entre 8a+ et 8c ! Après avoir travaillé la voie pendant 7 années, ils réussirent l'ascension complète après 19 jours dans la paroi avec une médiatisation sans égal pour notre sport.
