Digital guidebook cover of Gorges du Destel - Grandes voies
Destel Gorges (torrent dry most of the time) offer to climbers the widest choice that can exist: single pitch or multi pitch routes, athletic caves or slab, and a wide range of expositions. The routes described in this guidebook are the multi pitch routes only, which are among the longest in the Toulon area. The rock is excellent the most time, and equipment is very good. The routes of the left bank are broadly exposed northwest and mainly recommended in good days of springs and autumn. Avoid middle of the summer though ... Others may be climbed throughout the year, playing with the sunlight hours.

Vesancy

author V. Boulas, published on April 2015
France (Rhône-Alpes)90 routes, FREE on your smartphones et tabs
Digital guidebook cover of Vesancy
Career Vesancy, old farm, was transformed into climbing area. Single climbing area of Pays De Gex, therefore it is visited frequently and therefore pretty polished too. However, this small climbing area with about 50 routes is very appreciated after work for example and the day lasts long here. You'll find routes, traverses and some boulder passages. The crag is not high so grades can sometimes be an intermediary between boulder's grades and routes grades. So don't be surprised!
Have nice climbs :)

Cascade de Doran

author G.Brunot, published on March 2015
France (Rhône-Alpes)33 routes, 2.99 € on your smartphones et tabs
Digital guidebook cover of Cascade de Doran
A high, vertical, grey and orange limestone wall (about 70m), in a very quiet place with view of the mountains. The long routes are generally the more interesting but you'll need a level of 7a+ up to 8b. Many routes are sheltered from the rain, some dry pretty slowly but others never get wet. In summer, it's difficult to climb in the morning because of the heat, but it becomes pleasant after 13h when the crag is in the shade, thanks to the breeze which blows on sunny days.

This guidebook was drawn because trees prevent to take a photo.

La Pierre à Laya

author G.Brunot, published on March 2015
France (Rhône-Alpes)76 routes, 4.99 € on your smartphones et tabs
Digital guidebook cover of La Pierre à Laya
A beautiful crag with technical climbing. The limestone is generally vertical with crimps, flakes, gouttes d’eau, cracks, knobs, friction climbing and a few pockets. It’s quite a long crag which doesn’t encourage changing back and forth between distant sectors. Most of the routes dry quickly after heavy rain. The sun arrives at about 11h during the winter – theEnsoleillade sector being the first to see it, but from mid-November to mid-January it loses it at about 15h. The bottom of the crag is somewhat narrow and dangerous for children.

This guidebook was drawn because trees prevent to take a photo.

The rock is limestone moderately adherent (some routes are polished) with dominant crimps but also some holes, flakes and slopers.

It is one of the best crags offering single pitch sport climbing near Chamonix. It is a beautiful and quiet location. Climbing mainly on crimps. The upper part of the crag is sunny and it is possible to climb here during winter on sunny days. The difficulty is mainly between F7 and F8. The lower part of the crag is more shady because of the trees. The grades are also a little easier, mainly between F6 and F7.

Le Viaduc des Fauvettes

author Jean-Yves Derouck, published on June 2014
France (Île-de-France)118 routes, 7.99 € on your smartphones et tabs
Digital guidebook cover of Le Viaduc des Fauvettes
"Le viaduc des Fauvettes" is located in a wooded valley carved by the ru Angoulême, where chestnut and English oak dominate; it is anchored on steep slopes dotted with many blocks of "millstone" and essentially made of sand of Fontainebleau.

Not surprisingly, fans of verticality have captured this beautiful building and gradually devised a multitude of routes available to a large number of climbers. The millstone is a little bit aggressive for our little fingers but we eventually get used quickly enough to these annoyances.

The orientation of the viaduct allows almost constant climbing, whatever the climatic conditions; when it rains, it is possible to climb away arches. However, the viaduct is exposed to westerly winds and conditions become roughest when it's cold.

The revenues from the sale of this digital guidebook also return to COSIROC which has invested heavily to ensure that this area continues to be a public climbing space; it provides the bolters all equipment (drills, generator...) and supplies (resin, anchors, chains ...) necessary to track maintenance. Be sincerely thanks for your contribution.

This cliff or rather, this wall of rock... rising to heavens, far, above the fields... where cows graze... calls us to the contemplation. The climber and his lady venturing there can shelter there and find gem there. They can feed on short and pumpy routes, or, quench their longing journey in endless elevated walls. Then, satisfied, they'll warm themselves by the fire, filled with humility (and lactic acid) in front of this overhanging monument watching them. In short, more than 60 routes from F7a to F9a, 5 minutes far from the parking.
